ROSELAND MUSICAL was created in the summer of 1983 by the initiative of
Marta Almirall, coreographer and artistic director. The aim of the company has
always been to produce shows for children, using as a basis original music and scripts and these
have formed the grounds for developing the choreographic movement and the visual emphasis of
its productions. One of the objectives of the company is to transmit dance and theatre to the young
audiences in an amusing, original and joyful way and, at the same time, to offer the quality and
high standards as used in the production of shows for adults.
During all these years our productions have been seen by more than one million people over
Spain and overseas and translated into the following languages: Castillian, English, Italian,
French, Cantonese and Mandarin. In Europe, the company has performed in Italy, France, and
Holland, and has also participated in overseas Festivals such as: "Children's Festival of
Performing Arts" in Pittsburgh; "Northeastern Pennsylvania International Children's Theatre
Festival" in Wilkes-Barre; "International Theatre Festival for Children" in Philadelphia; “The
International Arts Carnival” in Hong Kong & “The International Children’s Festival” in Taiwan.
Also, the company has entered the world of cinema with the “TIC TAC” (director: Rosa Vergés -
1997) This film transfers into cinema the world of
ROSELAND and it was first released at Berlin (Germany) in February 1997.
