Increpación Danza was established in 1993 from the idea of
Ramon Baeza and
Montse Sánchez with the intention of researching the world of Spanish and Flamenco
dance, in an attempt to unite these traditional tecniques with the aesthetic parameters of the
present Contemporary Dance.
In these years of artistic career, the company have created their own language having
premiered six shows (as well as street performances, short pieces and several collaborations)
Increpación (1993), second prize of the III Certamen Coreográfico de la Danza
Española y Flamenco de Madrid.
Wad Ras (1995), first prize of the IV Certamen Coreográfico de la Danza Española y
Flamenco de Madrid.
F.G.L. Oídos de Lorca (1997) formed part of the official programme of activities
of the National Commission for the Organization of the Commemorative Acts of the Centenary of
Federico Garcia Lorca.
d.C (annus Domini) (1999)
Tablao (2002-2004) co-produced by Tanzhaus NRW, Düsseldorf and the Mercat de les
Flors, Barcelona.
Sarab (2005) co-produced by Danceworks, England. The passion of Spanish Dance
mixes together with the rythms and traditions from Morocco.
Increpa2 (2006) show aimed at a children’s audience summarizing the company’s
career.
In these years, the company have shown their work in more than 15 countries.
