COLOR DANSA was created in spring 1994 by
Mudit Grau (Artistic Direction and Choreography) and
Sílvia Calvo (Production and Management).
COLOR DANSA was created with the aim of reaching a varied, open-minded audience
with the use of different elements and universal concepts.
COLOR DANSA presents productions that sometimes fuse flamenco dance frameworks
with new elements of diverse origin. And another time using different styles and disciplines of
dance to reveal their similarities and differences as human beings.
MUDIT GRAU
Choreographer
In 1981 she was awarded an audition-based grant and entered the Escuela del Ballet Nacional
de España, under the direction of Antonio Ruiz.
Antonio Gades took her on in 1986 to form part of his company. She performed in his ballets
"Bodas de Sangre", "Carmen" and "Fuego and performing in the most prestigious theatres and
festivals.
She has been the Spanish dance teacher at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, since 1998 at
the Centre Integrat d’estudis Primaris Oriol Martorell, and, also directs three dance schools - “L’A
ula de Dansa” in Gavà, COLOR DANSA Centre d’ensenyaments de dansa” in both Sant Cugat del Vallès
and Sabadell (Barcelona).
In 1994 she formed her own company,
COLOR DANSA, which, to date, has created ten productions:
“Agua de luna”(1.995),
“Arran de terra” (1997),
”Pa qué…pa ná!”(1999)
“al-Andalus”(2000) ,
“A palo seco”(2001),
”De viaje” (2002),
“Tierra de nadie”(2003),
“Mientes +k parpadeas”(2004)
“Avida Vida”(2006) and
“Sal Damunt les Pedres” (2006).
She has collaborated with “Amics de l’Opera de Catalunya” choreographing the operas “El
amor brujo” and “La vida breve” (1.996),”Aida”(1998) and ”La Traviata”(2001);with the Teatro
Villamarta of Jerez for “La Traviata” (1998 and 2001) and with the Teatre Principal de Palma de
Mallorca (Samson et Dalila 1999).
She has collaborated with the Spanish production company FOCUS with choreographies for Peter
Schaffer’s “Amadeus”(1999) and with Teatro de la Zarzuela for “Los sobrinos del Capitan Grant”(
2001) and “La Generala” (2003) together with director Paco Mir. She has choreographied and designed
the stage from “Neruda en concert” (Auditori de Barcelona, 2004) and “Festival de Poesia” (Auditori
de St. Cugat, 2006).
She has involved in the research project “Shakespeare a ritme de hip hop”, directed by Moises
Maycas (2006).

1.994: Second Prize at the “3er. Certamen de Coreografia de Danza
Española y Flamenco,(competiton for choreography
of Spanish Dance
and Flamenco) awarded by SGAE( Spanish
Society of authors),for "En
la quietud" (Agua de luna).
1.995: First Prize at the 4º Certamen de Coreografia de Danza
Española y Flamenco, awarded by Community
of Madrid and Ministry
of Culture, for "En Flamenco" (Agua de
luna).
1.996: Prize “Ricard Moragas 1.996” awarded by Diputació
de Barcelona
and Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, for "Dansa
del Silenci"(Arran de terra).
