Àngels Margarit/Cia. MUDANCES premiered their first show in 1989. Since then, the
company has developed a very personal style of creation that has brought it national and
international recognition.
Àngels Margarit devotes herself to dance in all its different aspects such as
dancer, teacher and choreographer.
After 6 years with the group
Heura, one of the pioneers in her country’s contemporary dance, she set up the
company

Larandland (2006). These performances have been co-produced and presented at
festivals and programmes in Europe, Canada, U.S.A, South-America, Japan and Australia.
They have received, amongst others, the Grand Prix du Concours Chorégraphique de Bagnolet
1988 for Kolbebasar, the Premi Nacional d’interpretació i dansa 1991 for Atzavara, the Premi Ciutat
de Barcelona d’Arts Escèniques 1993 for Corol.la, the Premi Nacional de Dansa de Catalunya 1986 for
Mudances and 1999 for Tèrbol. They have been short-listed in the Premios ADE (Asociación de
Directores de Escena de España) for Choreographic Creation 1991 and 1993.
As an improviser, she collaborates with Andrés Corchero, Maria Muñoz, Rosa Muñoz, Alexis
Eupierre, Mónica Valenciano and with the musicians Joan Saura and Trio Local, Steve Noble, amongst
others.
In videodance she has created the pieces Boqueria in collaboration with Johanne Charlebois,
El Mar, with music by Agustí Fernández, for the TV programme Glasnost (Catalan TV), Subur 305,
Peix, Ritual Geogràfic, and Cos Recordat in collaboration with Núria Font and Du Parc#1410 in
collaboration with Walter Verdin.
As a teacher she has given courses and workshops in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Finland,
Canada, Colombia and Venezuela.
